The application of the Envision framework as a means of enhancing sustainability performance in infrastructure projects will be presented, with a focus on the Eglinton Elevated Guideway and the Samuel De Champlain Bridge Corridor Project as case studies.
The importance of contractor–consultant coordination was crucial on Eglinton Elevated Guideway. Joel will speak about the structure and take-aways from the project and how it enhanced this coordination.
The Samuel De Champlain Bridge Corridor Project was awarded the Envision Platinum Award in 2018, making it the first Envision project in Québec and the first bridge in Canada to receive this distinction. Hélène will describe how, from planning to design and maintenance, sustainability can be included in projects, ensuring best practices and promoting innovation.
Joel Dilling is a Green Building Project Manager with an extensive background in sustainable construction spanning from multi-unit residential, to healthcare, to transportation. His sustainability accolades include being an Envision Sustainability Professional, LEED Accredited Professional, courses in Climate Resilience and PIEVC Protocol, and project experience with many local green building codes across Canada.
Hélène Dubé, with more than 25 years of experience, is the Sustainability in Project Team Lead for AtkinsRéalis. She leads Envision strategies, sustainability plans, and environmental management of infrastructure projects including the new Ile-d’Orléans and Samuel De Champlain Bridges. Ms. Dubé is a certified Envision Verifier and member of the Envision Review Board.
