This webinar will introduce the Mexican Federation of Professional Civil Engineers Colleges (FEMCIC), highlighting its mission, organizational structure, and contributions to advancing the civil engineering profession in Mexico. The session will also examine the critical role civil engineers play in planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining the infrastructure systems that support Mexico’s economic growth, public safety, and sustainable development.
Oscar A. Cortés Reyna, P.E., is a senior civil engineering consultant with more than 35 years of experience in project management, construction engineering, contractual dispute resolution, public-private partnerships (PPPs), and sustainable infrastructure. He has led major infrastructure projects in Mexico and the United States, including highways, urban transportation, water and desalination systems, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, hospitals, schools, and economic development initiatives.
He currently serves as Vice President of International Affairs for the Mexican Federation of Professional Civil Engineers Colleges (FEMCIC), National Coordinator for PPPs and ENVISION sustainability programs in Mexico, and Mexico Representative to the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF). He is also active in numerous international engineering and infrastructure organizations, including the DRBF, the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).
