Technical Program
The CSCE’s International Short & Medium Span Bridge Conference has been held every four years in Canada since 1982 and has traditionally provided a worldwide state-of-the-art forum for all aspects of short and medium span bridge design, engineering, construction and maintenance. We expect excellent attendance by bridge engineers, consultants, contractors, administrators, and researchers from Canada, the United States, Europe and the rest of the world. We are delighted that the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering has again agreed to co-sponsor the conference.
The Technical Program is now available.
Click here to download a copy of the Assignment of Sessions and Rooms for each paper, listed numerically. The session is denoted by an upper case roman numeral, I to X, and the room temporarily by a letter, A to F.
Click here to download a copy of the Program of Concurrent Sessions. The session number is in the top left corner of each page, and the room number is shown in the left column.
We have tried to eliminate spelling mistakes and other typographical errors in these documents: please inform Mike Bartlett f.m.bartlett@uwo.ca immediately if you see any glitches.
Call for Posters
A room will be available at the 2010 Short and Medium Bridge Span Conference to display posters, and time will be made available in the conference schedule for poster authors to be present in the display room at their poster to discuss it with interested delegates. To date we have received 18 Letters of Intent to display posters, and I will be advising authors of the status of their letters of intent on or before 18 June 2010. A poster template will be available for downloading from the website by then too.
Posters will not be reviewed for technical content but will be checked to ensure they satisfy SMSB commercialism requirements:
Commercialism must be avoided. Products should be defined by their properties. Organization names or logos can appear only once. Product names can only be used once and only where they are associated with the definition of the properties. Succinct acknowledgement of sponsorship is both appropriate and acceptable. Posters that do not conform to this guideline will be removed from the display area and returned to the author.
You can confirm the acceptability of your poster by uploading it on the website before 15 July 2010.
If you want your poster to be included as a PDF document in the conference proceedings, it must be uploaded to the website in final form by 01 July 2010.
If you have questions, please contact Mike Bartlett at f.m.bartlett@uwo.ca

You can check the status of your paper online: go to www.bridgeconference2010.com, login, click on "papers" and check the status of each paper by clicking on the paper number. (The satus of each paper will be "incomplete" until the paper is received, accepted, the copyright form is completed, the presenter has submitted a biography and registered to attend the conference).
