On behalf of the local organizing committee, I am pleased to invite you to attend the 2010 CSCE Annual Conference in Winnipeg, June 9-12, 2010. This exciting event will bring together civil engineers from academia, industry, and government to share new developments in our discipline. Our aging infrastructure, along with a greater appreciation of the need for sustainable solutions, is placing an increasing demand on civil engineers in Canada. The 2010 Annual Conference will provide a great opportunity to measure the pulse of civil engineering innovation in our country and to network with colleagues and friends. While we invite presentations in all areas of civil engineering, the 2010 Annual Conference will feature specialty conferences in Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Disaster Mitigation Engineering.           A number of short-courses will be offered in connection with the conference. We also invite industry to take advantage of the exhibition facilities available during the conference. The conference will be held at the Fairmont Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg and in easy walking distance of the Forks, the historical Exchange District, the French-flavoured St. Boniface, and many of Winnipeg's other attractions. I encourage you to make Winnipeg a destination of yours in 2010.
